To-do lists are often equated with stress and busyness, but this round-up of recommendations is designed to wind you down when your period arrives. Here’s what to watch, read, listen to, buy, and do for some maximized downtime during that time of this month.
March is here—and with it (we hope!) the arrival of spring. But if the temperatures don’t start rising just yet, rest assured there are plenty of indoor activities to keep you entertained—and then some. Case in point? A new thriller that centers on an all-female gang, a suspenseful novel written by none other than Dolly Parton, and more... Here, the Pill Club’s top picks for the month ahead.
Asking For It
Badass women get their due thanks to what may be this month’s most exciting thriller, Asking For It. After a small-town waitress, played by Kiersey Clemons, is sexually assaulted on a date, she joins forces with all-female gang members (Vanessa Hudgens and and Alexandra Shipp) to take down violent frat boys and a corrupt society run by men, and seek the ultimate revenge.
Run, Rose, Run
Dolly Parton may be most well-known as the iconic country musician behind such hits as "9 to 5" and "Jolene", but now she’s trying her hand at something new: a novel—and a suspenseful one at that. Run, Rose, Run, co-written with best-selling author James Patterson, tells the story of a young, up-and-coming singer-songwriter as she tries to escape her past and claim her destiny in the limelight.
MOTOMAMI, Rosalía
This month, the Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía releases MOTOMAMI, an innovative work complete with organs and synthesizers. From what she calls "her most personal and confessional album so far," expect tracks about transformation, sexuality, and heartbreak—not to mention guest appearances from the Weeknd, James Blake, and more.
Maybelline New York Green Edition Lip Blush
Maybelline New York just debuted its Green Edition collection—the first makeup range to be certified by the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program, the global standard for products that are safe, circular and responsibly made. With at least 70% natural-origin ingredients and packaging that contains recycled materials, the lineup is full of plenty of feel-good must-haves, like the Balmy Lip Blush, which is formulated with mango oil and arrives in 10 sheer, swoon-worthy shades.
